General gaming Abreviations, Terms, and other information you should know
- GM - Game Master
- RPG - Role Playing Game
- Sim - Simulation - refers to either a thread of character interaction or campaign where characters interact with each other and potential NPCs and enemies
- NPC - Non Player Character - refers to characters used by GMs to further story line
- Player - Refers to the actual user behind the character
- Character - Refers to a player's character, actions by the character are decided by the player but may not have anything to do with the player's opinions directly
- Campaign - A simulation with a planned story line, directed by a GM
- XP - Experience points, awarded by a GM during or after a campaign
- Dice - Usually dice are annotated by how many sides they have. 20-sided dice, for example, are called d20s. The typical dice used in role-playing games are: d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20. Sometimes smaller or larger dice are needed, so our dice simulator also has d2, d3, and d100 (typically for percentages).
